What is the Fundamentals of Yoga Workshop?

If you have never tried yoga before, it can be difficult to know where to start. Googling the word yoga brings up 1,900,000,000 different results, and Instagram is filled with plenty of photos and videos of intimidatingly complicated yoga poses that, from most of us, elicit gasps of wonder and disbelief. Since there is an overload of yoga information out there, it can appear discouraging and beyond the bounds of possibility. The Fundamentals of Yoga Workshop will show you, all of our students and friends, that not only does yoga not have to be something that is scary or intimidating, but that it is something that is completely attainable to you…and fun! ANYONE can do yoga, regardless of age, gender, background, or size. If you can breathe, you can do yoga!

The Fundamentals of Yoga workshop is a one hour workshop offered one Saturday a month. If you have never done yoga before, then this is a great place for you to start. Can you attend the workshop if you have practiced yoga before? Of course you can! The Fundamentals of Yoga is a great way to reawaken a past yoga practice! The workshop is open to all ages and levels of experience. It would also be a great choice for any yogi who wishes to reacquaint him or herself with the fundamentals of yoga, or for someone who is considering beginning a yoga practice.

This workshop will explore yoga in a fun, friendly, and comfortable setting for yogis to experience the healing value of breathing and moving with vinyasa yoga. The format is open, so students are encouraged to ask questions as the class moves through foundational yoga poses (including modifications to accommodate your own personal abilities), meditation, breathing techniques, and how to link movement to breath.
