But you won't just admire it from afar—you'll climb into the cascading water and stand beneath it, surrounded by the jungle.
Experience the tradition of river clay masks using Costa Rica's natural blue clay, leaving your skin refreshed and connected to the earth.
Throughout your stay, enjoy daily light bites, brunch, and dinner, lovingly prepared with fresh, organic, locally sourced ingredients that celebrate the flavors of Costa Rica.

Our Retreat Center
Metamorfinca, the Farm of Transformation, is a haven nestled in San Luis, Costa Rica, overlooking a stunning waterfall just 30 minutes from the beach. Situated at 2900 feet above sea level on 22 acres of land, this permaculture farm offers an idyllic retreat where temperatures are always comfortable. With over 50 farm animals, including goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, and turkeys, guests can immerse themselves in a harmonious farm life experience.
The center also boasts Earth Eco Homes, an all-natural Yoga Shala made from bamboo grown on-site, an infrared sauna with Red Light Therapy, and a relaxing hot tub, creating a perfect blend of nature, wellness, and sustainability for visitors seeking rejuvenation and transformation.
Metamorfinca is located in San Luis Costa Rica, about 35 minutes north of Uvita. The land is 22 acres of magical accommodations, food forests, and conservation. San Luis, a serene mountain town, sits about 35 minutes north of Uvita and 45 minutes south of San Isidro in Costa Rica. Its tranquil atmosphere and lush surroundings offer an ideal escape, a 4 -hour drive from San Jose, making it a perfect retreat for nature enthusiasts and those seeking authentic Costa Rican experiences.

Casa Selva is a Jungle pod that sleeps 2 with a full private bath and kitchenette with two individual beds, or can be combined to a king.

The Village house sleeps up to 6. Four in a bunk room and two in an upstairs loft.
Attached to our small gym, our commercial kitchen, and laundry rooms, this is also where everyone will gather for daily meals.
There is one connected bathroom with a shower and two bathrooms in the practice shala across the path.

Casa Mariposa is our luxury private accommodation.
It comes with a queen size bed, sleeps 1-2, a full bath, a kitchenette and a private balcony overlooking the waterfall.

The details:
The price of the retreat includes 6 nights at Metamorfinca, all organic, healthy meals (3 meals a day), twice-daily practice classes, a waterfall hike, a luxury beach picnic with food, drinks, tents, and seating, and transportation to and from the airport at set group shuttle times.
It does not include your airfare, your hotel stay Feb 27th (we require you fly in the day prior and stay at a hotel near the airport to make the morning shuttle on the 28th), any meals outside of the retreat center and beach picnic, extra snacks, and drinks outside meals, or any facials or extra massages booked on site.
A $500 deposit is required to save your spot. This deposit is non-refundable and will go towards the total of your trip. Once the deposit is made, you will email amanda@yogastrongstudios.com with lodging requests and we will finalize a payment schedule.

Airfare
Hotel stay before or after retreat (we highly recommend you fly in the day before the retreat as the shuttle must leave in the morning). There are many affordable hotels right by the airport.
Lunch on the way to the retreat center (shuttle stops at a beautiful restaurant on the beach)
Snacks (snacks are for purchase on the retreat site. If you stay at the airport by the hotel there is a Walmart you can buy snacks before you go)
Massage or Facials

On the retreat center there is a pool, sauna, hot tub, lots of lounging areas to read or take a nap, hiking trails, and hang out spots to take in the beautiful views and enjoy the jungle.
Because our retreat center is pretty far up a mountain it is not possible to leave the center on your own other than just a hike or walk. You will only leave by car on set group activities like the market trip and beach day.

For our 2027 Costa Rica retreat we will have Virginia Cominaghi and Kristen Nussbaum as staff. A possible 3rd staff member will join if we reach a certain number of bookings.
Deposit holds your spot:
A $500 non-refundable deposit will hold your spot in the retreat. The deposit goes towards your total. Once you have paid your deposit via the link below, email amanda@yogastrongstudios.com with your room choice. If you have any questions or preferences, email and ask! We can make accommodations for slight adjustments in rooming, groups, etc.
Once we have an established group, we will begin to provide guidance on airfare, hotels, tips, packing lists, and allll the things!
